Josh is a data scientist and engineer who has extensive experience in the insurance industry. His focus in data mining and natural language processing led him to develop a suite of tools to help insurers identify and prevent FWA before it happens.
Josh holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Statistics with a focus in actuarial science from Penn State and a Master of Science degree in Analytics from Villanova University. Josh is helping Schaefer City Tech build our innovative algorithm and keep it current.
Jordann Reis is a business development leader specializing in connecting insurance professionals with innovative solutions. With expertise in client relations, strategic partnerships, and market expansion, she has helped top-tier insurance services firms strengthen relationships with insurers, TPAs, and risk managers.
At Schaefer City Tech, Jordann drives business development, ensuring solutions like NaVel® reach insurers nationwide. Passionate about innovation, she is committed to transforming how insurers leverage technology to mitigate risk and improve claims outcomes. She holds a Communications degree from Trinity University.
Craig is an experienced insurance executive specializing in helping companies bring digital platforms to market. His experience is extensive – he helped Carfax and Auto Trader launch their first generation websites; he was one of the original executives at the nation’s very first ‘InsurTechs’: Compare.com; he worked with Verisk to develop and lead LightSpeed, a new data-forward solution/ strategy for auto insurance carriers. Most recently, while working with Strategic Risk Associates, Craig developed Enterprise Risk Management(ERM) solutions for insurance carriers and MGAs.
At Schaefer City Tech, Craig will lead our GTM strategy bringing our innovative software, NaVel® to every insurance company in the US. Craig received a BS degree in Chemistry and Business from James Madison University.
SK is the CEO and Co-Founder of Xemplar Insights, a well-established digital solutions company based in Wayne, PA, which offers innovate software solutions P&C insurers and commercial businesses in the areas of customer engagement and risk management. In his professional career that spans over 28 years, SK has led and managed several strategic initiatives as an IT executive, a software service provider, as well an insurtech entrepreneur.
SK is continuously associated with customers, prospects, analysts, and industry partners to understand chronic business issues and solve them using emerging technologies and operational change management. He is helping Schaefer City Tech in developing a suite of cutting-edge technological solutions to STOP Nuclear Verdicts®.
Cayce is the Administrative Partner of Tyson & Mendes, a national insurance defense law firm, headquartered in San Diego, CA. A tenacious and established defense attorney, Cayce collaborates with defense litigation teams across every Tyson & Mendes office to achieve exceptional, efficient results in cases involving complex issues, catastrophic injury, or potential high exposure.
Cayce currently chairs on the national CLM Alternative Dispute Resolution Community. In 2017, she won San Diego Business Journal’s “Business Women of the Year” Award for her work on behalf of the firm. San Diego Metro and San Diego Business Journal selected her as a “Top 40 Under 40” in 2018 and 2019, respectively. Cayce was listed among San Diego Business Journal’s “Women of Influence in Law” in 2021, 2022, and 2023. CLM named Cayce an inaugural Phenom Under 40 in 2022. Cayce is helping Schaefer City Tech to implement actionable solutions to STOP Nuclear Verdicts®.
Prof Nate is an Assistant Professor of Practice for the Management and Operations Department at the Villanova University School of Business. His focus is data mining and the application of machine learning to business problems. Prof Nate started his career as a network engineer designing wireless and wired networks for commercial and government clients domestically and internationally. In addition to teaching and research, he has partnered with over 15 firms in the last 5 years to expand the use of analytics techniques to improve business outcomes.
Over the summer, Prof Nate led a class of MBA students on a journey to create the best algorithm to detect Nuclear Verdicts®. Their result was the prototype for NaVel®. In guiding the students to the best solution, the Professor is the perfect person to finalize NaVel® and help Schaefer City Tech get to market.
Pat is an attorney and a Founding Partner of Tyson & Mendes, a national insurance defense firm, headquartered in San Diego. His specific practice areas include defending against construction litigation, personal injury, insurance coverage and professional liability.
Previously a partner with Gordon & Rees – where he served as director of the construction and insurance groups – Pat joined forces with Bob Tyson in 2002 to form Tyson & Mendes. He graduated cum laude from the University of California, San Diego with a bachelor’s degree in History, and went on to earn his J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of San Diego School of Law.
Denise is a financial and operational management executive with extensive experience in the insurance industry, including insurtech start-ups, mergers/acquisitions, reorganizations, and financially challenging situations. She has held C-level positions with multiple insurance companies since 2000. She was the founder of Simplicity, Inc. an insurtech start-up focused on pay-as-you-go personal auto insurance; the President of Go Insurance Company, part of a fully integrated insurtech organization; and the first EVP and CFO of Doma (fka States Title, Inc.) an insurtech company transforming the title industry.
Denise started her finance and accounting career in public accounting in New York City working for KPMG and went on to work with PwC in Los Angeles as a Senior Manager leading their Financial Services team before launching into the insurance and insurtech industries. Denise is a Certified Public Accountant. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy degree from Villanova University and an MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management.
Bob is a trial lawyer and author of the #1 best-selling, first book written for the defense to limit exposure at trial, “Nuclear Verdicts®: Defending Justice for All”. He is also the Strategic Managing Partner of the national insurance defense firm, Tyson & Mendes, LLP.
Bob earned his B.S. in finance from Villanova University and his J.D. from Villanova University School of Law. Prior to founding Tyson & Mendes in 2002, he practiced law at some of Southern California’s largest defense firms, including Edwards, White & Sooy and Booth, Mitchel & Strange. Active in the community and legal profession, he frequently lectures on a variety of legal issues to business and professional organizations, including on Nuclear Verdicts®.
