Plaintiff’s arm was bitten by a donkey. She was in a nursing home, and staff saw an infection developing in her arm from the bite, as well as in her leg. The doctor did not call a surgeon for almost a week. Plaintiff’s arm and leg had to be amputated. Jurors awarded $47 million.
