Plaintiff needed to use a chair because her back hurt while performing her duties. Plaintiff was 74 when she requested this accommodation. When she requested to leave early for the day, her boss requested she submit her formal termination. She tried to explain she just wanted to leave for the day to rest. Despite this, and despite her continued efforts to get a doctor’s note, her employer terminated her. She sued. Jurors awarded $11.2 million.
